The Annual Stephen Clapp Memorial Concert
January 28 @ 4:00 pm - 5:15 pm
The fourth annual Stephen Clapp Memorial Concert, always one of the highlights of the year at St John’s, will be held on Sunday, January 28th at 4pm in the sanctuary. As is traditional, the concert features former students from Stephen’s violin studio. This year’s concert showcases violinist Soo Yeon Kim, who studied with Stephen at Juilliard. She has won several competitions and performed with many orchestras. She will play music by Beethoven, Chopin and Saint-Saëns, accompanied by pianist Evan Solomon. For the second year in a row, the program will open with a young chamber ensemble that includes violinist Brian Kaether. These students, who play together in the Norwalk Youth Symphony, will present Tchaikovsky’s beloved Souvenir de Florence as the Apollo Sextet. The concert is free and open to the public; donations will be accepted to support the concert series at St John’s.
