Sunday Morning Christian Meditation (from January 24, 2010)

  • Sundays at 9:10 a.m. in the Parlor

  • Contact: Karl Griswold-Kuhn, Intern Seminarian

Beginning January 24, we will meet to discuss the Lord's Prayer on Sunday mornings in the parlor: God has called us to prayer; To seek Him and to petition Him as well as to know Him in intimate conversation. In the Gospels Jesus presents us with a pattern to pray known simply as the Lord's Prayer. It is in our Eucharistic liturgy, in the Daily Office and said by countless children at night before bed. But what does it mean? What can we know about God in the prayer? We will address these questions among many others over the next several weeks. Please join us!

We believe that faith is a journey. We seek to help people wherever they are on their journey — young, old, new to the faith or very faithful. From loving care in the nursery to childhood years in Godly Play, on through Journey to Adulthood and in our adult years, Christian Education enables us to become lifelong Christians. Our goal is to lead parishioners to Biblical literacy, liturgical understanding and the knowledge of Christian living skills. Christian Education is a core value at St. John’s where parishioners and leaders believe that by focusing on our spirituality and challenging our minds we can become thoughtful, caring, lifelong Christians.
